Mubasher: The general index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell at close on Sunday, weighed down by the decline of six sectors and several leading shares.
The general index fell 0.41% or 34.30 points to 8,375.18 points after Industries Qatar lost 1.12%, Masraf Al Rayan dropped 0.78%, and Qatar National Bank (QNB) inched down 0.02%.
The retreating sectors were led by real estate, which declined by 1.09% pressured by the slip of three shares topped by Mazaya Qatar’s 1.86% drop.
The banking sector tumbled 0.53%, pressured by Qatar Oman Investment fell 3.49%, which led the sector’s fallers.
Meanwhile, the insurance sector was the sole gainer, adding 1.28% backed by the rise of Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance (QGRI), which surged 9.98%.
Trading value shrunk to QAR 130.5 million from QAR 491.29 million on Thursday, while volume dropped sharply to 7.9 million shares from 17.1 million.
Vodafone Qatar decreased 0.61% and was the most actively-traded in terms of volume and value with a 3.91 million shares at a value of QAR 31.01 million.
